Natural ways to detoxify your body
Our body is our temple. As much as we keep our body clean from the outside, inside cleansing and wellness is also of utmost importance. Current lifestyle habits and the quality of food available in the market makes it important for us to detoxify our body. Detoxification is a common phenomenon that cleanses our body and makes us free from ailments. Here are some of the most natural ways you can detoxify your body:
Switch to all organic
Organic products are 100% natural, unadulterated and are full of nutrients. The fruits and vegetables available in the market are sprayed with pesticides and insecticides that are dangerous to consume. They lead to life-threatening diseases in the long run. Opting for organic fruits and vegetables that are chemical-free can save you from such future threats.
Consume water
As much as we like to consume flavoured and plant-based drinks that we think are the ultimate detox drinks, they might not be the healthiest way to detox your body. Consuming flavoured drinks can bore us within sometime and we might stop consuming them altogether. Whereas, water is a natural detoxifier that has no-flavour but is still a daily need. Let’s put it this way – You can’t ever get bored of drinking water! Consuming 2-4 litres of water everyday can help in detoxification of the body.
Take plenty of rest
Weird right? How can sleeping help us detoxify? As much as we think about the activity of sleep as a need to energise ourselves, it also indirectly affects our body and metabolic rate. Sleeping early and on time also helps us in losing weight. 99% of the weight gain cases have insufficient sleep marked as its cause. Young adults are recommended to sleep at least 7-8 hours a day and for older and middle-aged people, it is suggested that they take at least 8-10 hours of sleep.
Avoid caffeinated drinks
Caffeine is known to provide instant energy to us and that’s why people often drink tea/coffee to energise themselves. Little do we know that caffeine does more harm than good to our bodies. Caffeine is known to disturb our night’s sleep, induce insomnia and lower our metabolic rate. It also increases the amount of acid produced in your body, leading to a lot of digestive issues as well. Therefore, choosing to drink coconut water or lemon water might be the best alternative to coffee and tea.
